Gabrielle Paetkau, RCC

Gabrielle is a trauma-focused Registered Clinical Counsellor who works primarily with adults navigating the lasting impacts of trauma. Her areas of focus include grief and loss, abuse, addiction, cultural oppression, and complex relational wounds. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals as they process difficult experiences and rebuild a sense of safety, identity, and strength.

With a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Gabrielle brings experience from both community-based and recovery-oriented settings, where she has supported clients through individual and group counselling. Prior to becoming a counsellor, she spent nearly four years as a women’s support and outreach worker in a domestic abuse transition home; work that continues to inform her grounded, trauma-sensitive approach.

Her therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centred Therapy. She thoughtfully adapts these modalities to meet each client’s unique needs, recognizing that trauma healing is not one-size-fits-all. Drawing from her experience in structured treatment programs, she incorporates psychoeducation when appropriate, equipping clients with practical tools and a deeper understanding of their nervous system, patterns, and resilience.

In addition to trauma work, she has supported youth and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, body image concerns, and self-confidence struggles. However, her passion and the heart of her practice, lies in trauma recovery and helping clients move from survival toward stability and meaningful change.

She offers a steady, respectful space where healing can unfold at a pace that feels safe and empowering.

Gabrielle offers sessions in English & Spanish.
