A trauma group... through a romance novel?
You heard that right.
This 5-week summer group series offers a fresh, creative twist on traditional trauma support. Instead of diving into real-life stories, we’ll explore trauma and recovery through the characters of a modern romance novel. Looking to explore trauma and healing in a fresh, engaging way? Join us for a 5-week trauma-informed book club—where the characters do the heavy lifting.
Instead of sharing real-life stories, we'll explore themes of trauma and recovery through the lens of a modern romance novel. (Yes, romance. Yes, it’s a little weird. But also—surprisingly fun and deeply healing.)
Each week, we’ll gather around a new theme and train as “armchair trauma therapists,” learning how to spot patterns of hurt, resilience, and growth in fictional characters on their way to a happily-ever-after.
Led by Kaitlyn Kraatz, MA, MACP, a trauma therapist known for her warm, creative, and empowering approach. Kaitlyn specializes in complex trauma and sees counselling as a way for people to become active participants in their own healing journey.
No previous experience with trauma groups—or romance novels—required. Just bring your curiosity and an open mind.
